| 11/12/02 : Too hot but great surf! | |
It's been 39 degrees today in Perth, about 9 degrees hotter than we like it. We were forced down the beach and were rewarded with some great waves and cooling seas. The swell wasn't very large but there was a long period between each wave. This means that when the waves do come they are much larger than usual for a specific swell(make sense???). Some people on the beach claimed to have seen a fin but it was only a small pod of dolphins about 50 yards offshore, enjoying the evening heat no doubt.
Temperatures should be a nice 30 degrees tomorrow, with a nice afternoon breeze coming off the ocean to keep things fresh.

| 07/12/02 : Want to send a Christmas card? | |
If you want to send us a Christmas card(preferably filled with wads of cash), see our address in the contacts page. Feel sorry for us when we are putting up with blue skies, hot days and glorious beaches this Christmas. Please put some turkey in the post, it’s roo meat and kookaburra pie for us.

| 04/12/02 : Surf and solar eclipse | |
We spent the day down at Scarborough Beach, a short walk from our house(we still drove). I spent about 2 hours in the water with my body board and am now about to collapse. The current was dragging everything across the beach, which made for a bit of fun trying to stay in between the safety flags. Julie came in for a swim and together we got swept about 50 yards down the beach before we’d even realized.
At about 5 O'clock we had a partial eclipse of the sun and things went a bit dark. According to the news we had an 80% eclipse but it didn't seem to be that much as it was over before it had really begun. South Australia got a full on eclipse with totality occurring shortly after 7pm, around 11am GMT.

| 01/12/02 : Cricket? | |
Julie and I have been to watch the test match today at the WACA. England got stuffed, we got sunburnt, end of story. We did have a good time though, mainly thanks to the 'Barmy Army' of traveling England fans that took so much joy in singing songs and irritating Shane Warne and company. My personal favourite was their, 'WHERES YOUR BROTHER GONE' chant to Steve Waugh.

| 29/11/02 : Pictures online | |
The first major batch of pics is gradually being placed online. We have taken well over a hundred but not have been deemed suitable due to some nice toothy grins and bad photography.
